Sun to Moon Gallery is pleased to highlight the artistry of Dan Burkholder & Jill Skupin Burkholder. Both artists are introducing new prints and will be present to talk about their works at an Artists Reception at Sun to Moon Gallery on Saturday, March 4th from 5-8 p.m.
Regarding his new Cuba work, Dan Burkholder states: "An artist’s responsibility is to find—or create—the atypical in any environment. During my three recent trips to Cuba, I strived to discover the unique design, the inimitable subject matter, or the photographic approach that would separate my images from the commonplace.”
Jill Skupin Burkholder talks about new works featuring creatures from the Great Trinity Forest in Dallas: "The four new photographs from the Great Trinity Forest unveil the diverse creatures living within the natural, native areas of Dallas. These images of Texas wildlife, captured with a motion-sensitive trail camera (strategically placed with the help of Master Naturalist & Great Trinity Forest advocate Ben Sandifer), are creatively transformed into encaustic works of art utilizing beeswax and resin to highlight the ethereal landscape within the borders of the urban forest.”
